The Boschetto Bulletin - Every Challenge is an Opportunity

Good morning my friend, and happy Monday! Welcome to the Boschetto Bulletin, where we help small business leaders grow through the power of project management.

(And if you haven’t yet shared with a fellow entrepreneur or small business owner, please consider doing so!)
Issue 3 of the Boschetto Bulletin focuses on solving the right problem, turning challenges into growth, and unlocking hidden potential. Let’s jump in….
PM Tip of the Week
Are you solving the right problem?
One of the biggest pitfalls business leaders face is solving the wrong problem. Teams often jump into execution without fully understanding the root cause of an issue. That’s where the 5 Whys Method comes in.
🔍 How It Works:
When faced with a challenge, ask "Why?" five times (or until you reach the root cause). Each answer forms the basis for the next “Why.”
✨ Example: A product launch is delayed.
1️⃣ Why? The team missed a key deadline.
2️⃣ Why? Requirements weren’t clear from the start.
3️⃣ Why? Stakeholders had conflicting expectations.
4️⃣ Why? There was no structured discovery process.
5️⃣ Why? The project kicked off without aligning on scope.
💡 Solution: Instead of treating delays as an isolated issue, you work to fix the real problem - the lack of clear alignment in the early stages.
✅ Takeaway: Before jumping to solutions, validate that you’re solving the right problem. A well-defined problem is halfway to a successful outcome.
Blog Post of the Week
Every business leader faces setbacks. These moments can feel like major obstacles, but what if they were actually stepping stones to growth?
This is where “The Learning Pit” comes in. Just like in education, where real learning happens in moments of struggle, entrepreneurship thrives on discomfort, adaptation, and perseverance. The key isn’t avoiding the Pit — it’s learning how to climb out, emerging stronger than before.
✅Step into the arena. Success isn’t about avoiding failure but daring to take action despite uncertainty.
✅Embrace The Learning Pit. Challenges force us to rethink, adapt, and evolve.
✅Use the SBi3 System. A structured approach to innovate, implement, and improve turns obstacles into opportunities.
🔑 Every challenge is an opportunity — if you have the right strategy to navigate it.
What I’m Reading
In Hidden Potential, Adam Grant challenges the traditional belief that talent is fixed and that success is reserved for those who show early promise. Instead, he argues that growth isn’t about innate ability — it’s about learning, adapting, and pushing through discomfort.
“It’s often said that where there’s a will, there’s a way. What we overlook is that when people can’t see a path, they stop dreaming of the destination.”
When the way forward is unclear, motivation dwindles, and potential remains untapped. Success isn’t just about having the will — it’s about building the way.
By embracing uncertainty and iterating through innovation, implementation, and improvement, business leaders can break past barriers and unlock their hidden potential.
